Magic Casement strikes again at Chester

12/09/10 - Proclamation gelding now rated 110p; Black Annis Bower becomes Proclamation’s eighth winner

The Dandy Nicholls-trained Magic Casement kept his unbeaten record intact on Friday when strolling home by seven lengths to land the seven-furlong nursery at Chester.

His front-running victory was described by the Racing Post as “a demolition job” and the report also added that Magic Casement is “an exciting prospect with scope for plenty of further improvement”.

The good judges of Timeform obviously agree as they have awarded the gelding a rating of 110p.

Out of the Primo Dominie mare Dee Dee Girl, Magic Casement was bred by Fifehead Farms and M C Denning.

On Sunday, Black Annis Bower became the eighth winner for Proclamation when successful in Newcastle’s six-furlong nursery. Her pedigree has Overbury Stud connections on both sides as she is out of Bow Bridge, Bertolini’s first-crop Listed Marygate Stakes winner, who was conceived at the stud.

Like her dam, Black Annis Bower races for her breeder Mrs A Jarvis and is trained by Mick Easterby.
