02/04/11 - Kayf Tara’s E Street Boy completes seven-day hat-trick

It’s rare for a hurdler to run three times in a week but E Street Boy is clearly a horse in great form, having started a three-race winning streak at Wincanton last Sunday and followed it up with victories at Hereford on Wednesday and Chepstow on Saturday.

The Kelanne Stud-bred five-year-old son of Kayf Tara was hot favourite to complete the hat-trick and travelled easily through his final test, stalking the leading bunch before cruising to the lead to win eased down.

His delighted trainer David Pipe said on Twitter immediately after the race: “It was worth the trip to Chepstow with E Street Boy winning easily. Great result for winning connections.”

Those winning connections, Roger Stanley and Yvonne Reynolds, have been very lucky owners in recent years with their purple, red and yellow colours having been carried to victory by Hennessy winner Madison du Berlais and the highly exciting young staying hurdler Grand Crus.
