Seven winners in a week for Bertolini

30/9/11 - Sizzling seven days for Overbury sire

Bertolini has been as hot as the Indian summer this week with seven winners in the past seven days.

A double at Wolverhampton last Saturday got the ball rolling when two-year-old Confucius Elite won the five-furlong maiden, swiftly followed by four-year-old Count Bertoni, who won for the fourth time when landing the nine-furlong handicap.

The following day Bertolini recorded a trio of winners from Budapest to Musselburgh, where 84-rated three-year-old filly Metropolitain Miss scored for the second time for owner Saeed Misleh.

On Wednesday, racing was abandoned at Ballarat in Australia after only one race following torrential rain, but the sole winner on the card was Bertolini’s five-year-old NZ-bred daughter Ky’s The Limit.

The same day saw success for Chokurei, a three-year-old filly trained by Clive Cox, who won her fourth race from ten starts, this time over a mile at Nottingham.
