Kayf Tara increases his lead in the sires' table

12/12/11 - Three winners in five days for Britain’s leading NH stallion

Victories for Love Of Tara, Tarbeck, and Fentara, plus placed finishes from Bringewood Belle, Altan Khan and old favourite Kayf Aramis within the last week have enhanced Kayf Tara’s standing at the top of the British jumps sires’ table for the 2011/12 season.

He now has 32 winners from 103 runners to give him a strike rate of 31 per cent and total prize-money for the season to date of £341,162, meaning Kayf Tara is in seventh place among all active National Hunt sires in Britain and Ireland.

Seven-year-old Tarbeck, bred by Mrs J M Newitt, initiated the first half of a Hereford double on Sunday, winning for the first time on his third start over hurdles.

Later on the same card, Love Of Tara returned to winning ways to land the 2m4f handicap hurdle. Bred by N A Jackson, the nine-year-old mare has now won four times and has been placed on a further four occasions.

Earlier in the week another mare, the six-year-old Fentara, recorded her second victory over hurdles at Hexham for her owner/breeder Mrs E Dixon.

Kayf Aramis returned to Cheltenham on Friday, the scene of his victory in the Listed Pertemps Final at the Festival in 2009, and posted yet another game performance when finishing runner-up in the Citipost Handicap Hurdle over three miles.
