Numbers add up well for Kayf Tara

27/12/11 – Whichever way you look at it, the statistics point to a highly promising sire of jumpers

Kayf Tara, currently flying high in the jump sires’ table in sixth position among living stallions in Britain and Ireland, boasts the highest average earnings per runner of the top ten living National Hunt sires.

With 36 winners this season giving him a 33 per cent winners-to-runners strike rate, Kayf Tara’s average of £3,346 per runner puts him ahead of the likes of Overbury (£3,061), Dr Massini (£2,935), Beneficial (£2,634); Presenting (£2,267), Oscar (£2,054), Flemensfirth (£2,349), Milan (£2,034), and Alflora (£1,593).

With results like these, it’s hardly surprising that his offspring have fared well at the recent National Hunt foal sales at Doncaster, where all 15 of his youngsters sold for an average of £11,500, with his colts averaging £13,750.
