Top two lots for Sagamix at Arqana

Close relations to Grade 1 chaser Nickname head the February Sale in Deauville   14 February 2012

 

Two mares by Sagamix from the Sylvia Wildenstein dispersal topped Arqana’s February Sale in Deauville on Monday.

With solid National Hunt credentials, Nickelle, winner of the Listed Prix Wild Monarch-Pouliches Hurdle at Auteuil, was top price, selling for €85,000. Her half-sister N’oublie Jamais was also successful in the same race in 2008 and recently followed up that success with victory in the Listed Grande Course de Haies de Cagnes.

Their dam N’avoue Jamais, who was also offered for sale and fetched €48,000, is a half-sister to the Grade 1-winning steeplechaser Nickname and to the second top priced horse of the sale, New Saga, another mare by Sagamix.

Now 10, New Saga, who was a three-time winner on the Flat and Listed-placed over hurdles as a four-year-old, was sold for €70,000 to Meridian Bloodstock.

Sagamix is standing at for 2012 at a fee of £1,500, October 1, Special Live Foal.
