Hat-trick for Pitkin

Proclamation gelding on a roll 20 June 2012

Proclamation, who has Annunciation running for him in Thursday’s G2 Norfolk Stakes, has enjoyed success via another consistent campaigner in Pitkin over the last month.

The four-year-old completed a hat-trick of victories between 2 June and 18 June, winning at Catterick over seven furlongs then at Pontefract on 11 June and Carlisle a week later, the latter two wins both being over six furlongs.

Trained by Mick Easterby for Steve Hull, the Mill Farm Stud-bred gelding has also won twice on the all-weather as a two-year-old. Pitkin is the winningmost offspring of the Fairy King mare Princess Oberon.

Proclamation was also represented by winning two-year-old Harleys Rocket at Lingfield on Saturday when Anthony Byrne’s homebred out of Royal Obsession (Val Royal) scored over five furlongs at the third time of asking.
