Sagamix on the move

Arc winner to leave Overbury after three seasons in England

The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sagamix is leaving Overbury Stud to move to Morocco.

He will stand privately at Jacobey Stud where he will be used to cover the owner’s broodmare band of around 35.

Unbeaten in his four starts at three, culminating in the 1998 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the son of Linamix was bred by the late Jean-Luc Lagardere from the Sagace mare Saganeca. Sagamix’s family has been to the fore again this season in France thanks to the exploits of the G1 Prix Saint-Alary winner Sagawara, a daughter of his sister Sagalina.

Sagamix is the sire of Willie Mullins’s promising chaser Flat Out and of the dual-purpose performers Royal Mix and Nickelle, who was a Listed winner on the Flat before turning to hurdling.
