Brothers take to the stage on day three of the Festival

Cheltenham preview – Kayf Tara’s runners 27 February 2013

The full-brothers Kayf Aramis and Kaylif Aramis could both be lining up for action on the Thursday of the Cheltenham Festival in the Listed Pertemps Final.

The race was won in 2009 by Kayf Aramis, who is now an 11-year-old and still going strong with 82 runs to his name, including victories on the Flat and over hurdles. Five years younger is Kaylif Aramis, who secured his first victory over hurdles on 2 February and was beaten just half a length for third in a competitive handicap hurdle at Kempton three weeks later. The brothers were bred by Isobel Phipps Coltman and are trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies.

Progressive chasers Cantlow and Micheal Flips both hold entries later on the card in the Grade 2 Byre Group Plate over 2m5f, with Cantlow also having the following race, the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup, as a possible target. Kayf Tara also be represented in that race by Tim Walford’s good mare Fentara and Ballyoliver, from the in-form stable of Venetia Williams.
