Five go forward for Festival finale

Cheltenham preview – day four 28 February 2013

There may be some stamina issues for those lucky enough to have been at the Cheltenham Festival all week, and the final day of racing at Prestbury Park sees Kayf Tara with a possible quintet of representatives.

The Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle is the aim for Tim Vaughan’s dual-winning five-year-old Bucking The Trend, who has recorded hurdles victories at Stratford and Leicester this season. Joining him could be Grade 2 winner Mozoltov, who holds multiple Festival entries and is a member of Willie Mullins’ formidable raiding party.

Another Irish challenger, Fahamore, holds an entry for the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle and the six-year-old gelding will arrive at Cheltenham on a roll with back-to-back victories at Limerick and Fairyhouse to his credit in December and January for JP McManus.

The curtain falls on the 2013 Festival with the running of the Johnnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase in which Cantlow is another potential runner for JP McManus. He could face Ballywatt, who hasn’t finished out of the first three in his four starts this season.
