Kayf Tara filly in the ribbons at TBA Foal Show

Older fillies’ class falls to Mickley Stud and Peter Emery’s daughter of Celtic Native 24 July 2013

The inaugural TBA National Hunt ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ Foal Show has been widely regarded as a great success and we were delighted to see a daughter of Kayf Tara win one of the four classes of the day and proceed to the championship.

Presented by Richard Kent of Mickley Stud, the strong March-born filly is out of Celtic Native, who won ten races under National Hunt rules for Devon-based Peter and Jill Emery. The couple still own the daughter of Be My Native in partnership with Mickley Stud.

“We’re absolutely delighted – it’s the first time we’ve seen the foal and we came up especially for the show,” said Peter. “It feels like we’ve won a big race!”

Overbury Stud was well represented at the event at Bangor racecourse, with foals by both Kayf Tara and Schiaparelli on show.

We also took two mares and foals from the stud to compete. Welsh National winner L’Aventure was shown with her Kayf Tara filly, while the well-related French mare Molly Flight was also entered with her filly by Shirocco, who was fourth in the class won by Celtic Native’s daughter.
