Delegator's fee reduced to £4,000

Overbury Stud unveils fees for 2014 8 November 2013

Delegator, Dansili's highest-rated sprinter-miler, is to stand at a reduced fee in 2014. Despite covering more than 100 mares in his first season, the G2 winner who ran second to Sea The Stars in the 2,000 Guineas, beating Rip Van Winkle and Mastercraftsman, will be at £4,000 Oct 1, Special Live Foal.

Simon Sweeting, manager of Overbury Stud, said, 'Delegator was extremely well-supported in 2013, covering a big book, and breeders who came to see him absolutely loved his good-looks and fluent action. But it's a very competitive market out there and we're doing our best to enable breeders to do better by breeding to our stallions than by going to their rivals.'

Overbury is introducing Cityscape, who had his stud mate Delegator behind when winning the G1 Dubai Duty Free in record time, at £5,000 Oct 1, Special Live Foal.

'Cityscape was a record-breaker at two as well,' said Sweeting, 'and he's the best miler from the Sharpen Up line since his sire Selkirk. It can't harm being from the family of Redoute's Choice either.'

Even after winning his fourth National Hunt Sires' Championship, Kayf Tara remains at £3,000 Oct 1, Special Live Foal.

'Kayf Tara's especially good value as his top 20 stores this year averaged £33,000, while his biggest and best crops are only now getting to the racecourse,' said Sweeting.

Schiaparelli, Overbury's son of Monsun who won more G1s than Shirocco, has had his fee held for his fourth season at stud at £2,000 Oct 1, Special Live Foal.

'Schiaparelli's yearlings look the part, sharing their sire's strength, athleticism, size and good temperament,' said Sweeting. 'He's a very exciting jumping sire in the making.'
