Kayf Tara flying high with 32% strike-rate

Best winners-to-runners ratio of all top ten stallions in Britain and Ireland
15 February 2014

Kayf Tara continues to enjoy a memorable season with the winners rolling in and a strike-rate to top any of the leading stallions in Britain and Ireland.

With 60 winners of 82 races from his 189 starters this term, the son of Sadler’s Wells has an impressive strike-rate of 32% – higher than Oscar (30%), Presenting (26%), Milan (29%) and Flemensfirth (26%), the four stallions ahead of him on prize-money in the National Hunt sires’ table.

Kayf Tara is also on course to take his fifth consecutive champion British National Hunt sire title, with his closest rival Alflora on 37 winners for the season.

This week, Kayf Tara has been represented by another trio of winners. Arthur’s Oak won over hurdles at Exeter on Sunday for Venetia Williams, with Tarabela bringing up a double on the card to score her fifth career win.

On Friday, the Peter Clinton-bred four-year-old Rons Dream got off the mark at the third attempt after two runner-up finishes to won the bumper at Fakenham by 22 lengths.
