Great start to new season for Kayf Tara

Britain's six-time champion National Hunt sire celebrates Grade 3 winner at Haydock 11 May 2015

Fresh from notching his sixth consecutive champion British National Hunt sire title, Kayf Tara has hit the ground running in the new jumps season, with eight winners to his name, including a Grade 3 hurdler.

War Sound’s victory in the G3 Swinton Hurdle on Saturday sealed a double on the day at Haydock after No Planning had won the ninth race of his career in the opening contest on the card.

Also gracing the winner’s enclosure in the last week have been five-time scorer Strongly Suggested, while six-year-old Tara Mac posted her first win for trainer Keith Dalgliesh.

Captain Bocelli won on debut for Anabel Murphy and owner Diana Whateley at Market Rasen last Friday and Promanco was another mare to get off the mark for Charlie Longsdon at Ludlow on Sunday.

Kayf Tara is currently in third position on the British and Irish National Hunt stallion table and is tied on eight winners with Oscar and Flemensfirth, while leader Milan has posted nine winners.
