Tapit, Scat Daddy, Mustajeeb: the Mr P connection

New Overbury stallion has pedigree similarities with two of the best stallions in the world.

Mustajeeb – the third-best six-or-seven furlong horse of the past two seasons, after only Champions Muhaarar and Slade Power – carries two lines of Mr Prospector, the greatest speed influence of the late-20th Century. It's an uncommon pedigree quirk he shares with the leading sire of juveniles Scat Daddy, plus American Champion sire Tapit.

Both Scat Daddy and Tapit saw their stud fees rise enormously after proving such great successes: Scat Daddy once stood at $10,000 and was due to cover at $100,000 in 2016 before he unfortunately died, while Tapit's fee has boomed from $12,500 to $300,000.

Of further succour to fans of the record-breaking Jersey Stakes winner is the fact that both Scat Daddy and Tapit were rated inferior to Mustajeeb on the track.

Mustajeeb's fee is £5,000 Oct 1, SLF, and a limited number of <HAPPY BREEDER> breeding right nominations are also available: for £10,000 you get two 2016 nominations and are rewarded with free nominations for 2017 and 2018 – use all four and you will be given a free lifetime breeding right, to use or sell as you wish. If he fares anything like as well as Scat Daddy or Tapit, it will be make for some very happy breeders indeed.
