Accidental Agent strikes it rich

Valuable sales-race victory for young son of Delegator

Following the Group 3 victory of Delectation, Accidental Agent became the second big-race winner for his first-season sire Delegator when striking gold in the £150,000 Tattersalls Autumn Auction Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.

Racing in the colours of her breeder Gaie Johnson Houghton and trained by her daughter Eve, Accidental Agent has now won two of his four starts and was also runner-up at Goodwood on his previous outing.

Bought in at 8,000gns when offered for sale as a yearling, the son of the winning Xaar mare Roodle has now won £87,880.

With a strike-rate of 35%, Delegator is the sire of six individual winners from just 17 runners, with two of those winners being out of daughters of Xaar. He has just three yearlings catalogued next week at the Tattersalls October Sale.
