North Hill Harvey caps great weekend for Kayf Tara

G3 Greatwood Hurdle winner adds to Listed bumper victory of My Khaleesi

Kayf Tara was once again a dominant presence at Cheltenham as three of his offspring won major races during the three-day Open Meeting.

Last season’s top-rated hurdler Thistlecrack returned to the scene of his G1 Ryanair World Hurdle victory to post his second won over fences at odds of 1/7. This brought the eight-year-old’s tally to seven consecutive wins and 11 in total from just 16 starts.

Later on Saturday’s card, five-year-old My Khaleesi, who is raced by her breeder Mrs M C Sweeney, forced a dead-heat in the Listed Mares’ Bumper after fighting back when headed by Irish Roe.

On Sunday, the Dan Skelton-trained five-year-old North Hill Harvey, posted his second victory under rules when recording an impressive victory in the G3 Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.

Fourth in last year’s G1 Top Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree, North Hill Harvey was bred by Eric Cantillon from the Robellino mare Ellina and was bought for £110,000 at Cheltenham’s April Sale of 2015 after winning an open maiden point-to-point at Chaddesley Corbett.

Kayf Tara will cover a maximum of 100 mares aged 16 or younger next season. His fee will be announced at Christmas.
