Delegator foals in demand at Tattersalls

Sire of G3 winner Delectation ends first day of foal sale as leading sire by average

The impressive start made by Delegator with his first-crop runners this season has not gone unnoticed by foal-buyers this week at Tattersalls.

With only four catalogued, the first three, all sold on Wednesday, returned an average price of 26,667gns to make Delegator the leading sire on day one.

The top price among these was given for lot 328, a colt out of the winning Kyllachy mare Irrational, who sold to Tally-Ho Stud for 43,000gns after a protracted battle between a number of shrewd pinhookers.

Consigned by Bearstone Stud, the colt was bred by Crossfields Bloodstock, who have been staunch supporters of Delegator and bred his first-crop unbeaten Group 3 winner Delectation.

There is just one more Delegator foal to sell at Tattersalls on Saturday: lot 1332, a colt out of treble winner Four Miracles (Vettori), consigned by Childwickbury Stud.
