Encouraging start for Proclamation’s yearlings 5/10/09

Proclamation had two yearlings catalogued at last week’s Goffs’ Orby Sale and both delivered decent returns to give their sire an average of £11,000 for eight sold since the start of the autumn sales.

Lot 656, a colt out of the winning Petong mare Peruvian Jade was knocked down to leading breeze-up consignor Con Marnane for €30,000. He is a half-brother to Bertolini’s consistent campaigner Mac Gille Eoin, who was runner-up in the Listed Starlit Stakes at Goodwood last month.

Proclamation’s other Goffs graduate is a filly out of Thai Rose, a daughter of Cherry Hinton Stakes winner Musicale, who brought €14,000 when selling to Beliar Bloodstock.

In the coming weeks there are plenty more of his sons and daughters still to come on the market with six Proclamations catalogued in Tattersalls Book 2, which starts on Monday, 12 October, eight more later in the week in Book 3, plus seven in Doncaster’s October Sale.

Don’t forget: from the class of 2005, Proclamation was rated higher than this year’s leading first-season sires Dubawi, Shamardal and Footstepsinthesand, who were all exceptional milers in their own right.
