Overbury Stud fees for 2010 unchanged from 2009 (03/11/09)

Our stud fees for the coming season have now been agreed, and remain unchanged from 2009.

Kayf Tara, last season's leading active British-based jumps sire, will stand for the 2010 season for £4,500 (slf), the same figure that he commanded in 2009.

The son of Sadler's Wells looks set to enjoy another strong season on the track this winter thanks to a host of young talent that includes Clan Tara, who won a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Thurles for Paul Nolan in February, RSA Chase fourth Carruthers and Kayf Aramis, who handed his sire a first Cheltenham Festival success when taking the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle.

His stock have also proved to be extremely popular in the sales ring, with foals  averaging £13,500 in 2008, and yearlings  averaging £15,000 and 3 year olds averaging £34,600 in 2009.

Also unchanged for next season are our Flat stallions, Bertolini, who stands at £4,000 (slf) and who is currently the tenth top sire in Britain - with much the lowest fee ahead of Red Ransom, Hernando, Compton Place, Medicean, Halling and Verglas. He is also in the top five in Britain by number of 2yo winners; and Proclamation at £3000 (slf). The latter - a Group 1-winning son of King's Best - will be represented by his first two-year-olds next year.

Former Overbury resident Zafeen has been sold to stand at Haras du Petit Tellier in France.
