Overbury Stud’s new stallion, the top-class miler Cityscape, is already excelling in his new career: of his first 27 mares covered and scanned, an exceptional 25 are in foal.

Among them are the multiple G3 winner La Dancia, who had had just one foal in her first six years at stud, and the Stakes-winning, Group-producing mare Firebelly, who had been barren for the previous three seasons.

Simon Sweeting, manager of Overbury Stud, said, ‘He’s super-fertile, and is already putting a grin on many breeders’ faces. We are delighted with the start he’s made.’

Among those supporting Cityscape are Classic breeders Bob McCreery and Willie Carson, and respected judges Emma Balding, Luke Lillingston, John Troy, Kevin Mercer, Fiona Marner, Peter Onslow and Ed Harper, plus Cityscape’s own breeders, Juddmonte, who have retained five breeding rights.

Ranked the best new retiree on Racing Post Ratings after only Dawn Approach and Farhh, Cityscape stands at £5,000 Oct 1, SLF.
