Ardad has been out of the gates just as fast as his runners this year, with his three-year-olds picking up right where they left off last season.
So far in 2026, Ardad is way out in front in the table for leading sires of three-year-olds in Europe, with 14 winners of 16 races from 38 starters.
This particular crop – which was responsible for 39 individual two-year-old winners in 2025 – includes the prolific Ten Carat Harry, now rated 97 and the winner of six races. He is being prepared for a first outing in stakes company this weekend with an entry for the Listed Spring Cup at Lingfield.
The 96-rated Baker Blue has also been rising through the ranks this winter and looked a bit special when winning very easily last time out by five lengths. The handicapper clearly thought so too as he has given Baker Blue a hike of 9lbs for that success.
At Chelmsford on Wednesday, Ardad’s three-year-old son Tadej makes his seasonal return in the European Road to the Kentucky Derby Conditions Stakes. His juvenile year included victory in the G3 Prix de Cabourg at Deauville along with finishing third in the G2 Prix Robert Papin.
And of course, with the turf season now only a month away, brace yourselves for the next surge of Ardad juveniles. No fewer than seven of them hold entries for the valuable Weatherbys Super Sprint in July, but we can expect to be hearing plenty more about their sire before then.
