Bossman Jack gave Jack Hobbs his first Grade 1 success on Grand National day with victory in the Turners Mersey Novices’ Hurdle for Dan and Harry Skelton.
“He could be really, really good,” enthused the champion trainer-elect after the six-year-old had secured the fourth win of his career from just six starts.
Harry Skelton added, “He’s got a great deal of ability but he’s a long way from being the finished article. I think there’s a lot to come from him.
”I think we’ll go on and have a crack now over fences.”
Bred by Richard Kelvin-Hughes, Bossman Jack is out of the Presenting mare Lindeman and is a half-brother to the smart Gidleigh Park.
In a successful season for Jack Hobbs, he has also been responsible for the G2 Pendil Novices’ Chase winner Jax Junior.
