For the fourth consecutive year, Schiaparelli has been awarded the Horse & Hound Cup at the TBA National Hunt Awards for the leading British stallion for steeplechase winners.

His star of the season was the eight-year-old mare Marsh Wren, who won a Listed chase at Thurles and was third in the Liberthine Mares’ Chase at Cheltenham. Bred by the Executors of the late trainer and breeder Renee Robeson, the Stuart Edmunds-trained Marsh Wren was awarded the Midnight Legend Trophy as the leading chase mare.

The late Kayf Tara was also remembered at the awards night, with the breeders of two of his sons picking up trophies.

The Will Kinsey-bred Romeo Coolio, who was runner-up in the G1 Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, was awarded the Overbury Stud Trophy for leading bumper performer, whilst this season’s G2 Game Spirit Chase winner Edwardstone, a multiple Grade 1 winner bred by Robert Abrey and Ian Thurtle, retained his leading chaser title, which was sponsored by Highflyer Bloodstock.
