Gregory continued his unbeaten run this season with a second Listed victory, this one by a facile 11 lengths in the Jockey Club Rose Bowl Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday, following his win in May in York’s Grand Cup.
Winner of the G2 Queen’s Vase as a three-year-old for Wathnan Racing, the son of Golden Horn was bred by Philippa Cooper of Normandie Stud and has now won five and placed in four of his 13 starts.
According to co-trainer Thady Gosden, a reappearance at Ascot may be on the cards for Gregory in the G1 Qatar Racing Long Distance Cup on British Champions Day.
Thursday also saw a second win from just three starts for Frontiersman two-year-old Silverella, who landed a Pontefract novice stakes by five and a half-lengths for trainer Marcus Tregoning.
Bred and raced by Jennifer Dorey, Silverella is a full-sister to Frontierman’s first ever winner, Miss Dolly Rocker, who is now rated 92, and a half-sister to Rebel Rocker (Cityscape), who was sixth in this year’s Derby having finished runner-up in the Listed Blue Riband Trial at Epsom.
