Ardad debutante Princesse d’Orange streaked to victory at Beverley on Wednesday, posting a performance in which she was described by Racing Post analyst David Toft as “much too good for her rivals”.

Bred and raced by Cheveley Park Stud, the David O’Meara-trained filly beat her nearest rival by four lengths when making all in the five-furlong contest for a win which puts her firmly in the frame for the G2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Out of the Dutch Art mare Anna Of Lorraine, she is a half-sister to the 86-rated dual winner Diligently (Harry Angel) and from the further family of Group 1 winner Audience.

Princesse d’Orange gets the ball rolling for Ardad’s crop of 2024 while his current crop of three-year-olds continue to hold their own as the season progresses. With 22 individual winners this year, Ardad is tied with the prolific Mehmas in having sired more three-year-old winners than any other sire in Europe.
