Anaisa became the fourth two-year-old stakes winner of the year for Ardad on Bank Holiday Monday when landing Ripon’s British Stallion Studs EBF Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy for Tim Easterby and the Nick Bradley Racing syndicate.

Bred by her trainer under his Habton Racing banner, the filly out of the Kingman mare Secretarial has been kept busy this season with eight starts under her belt. She broke her maiden on 3 May at Thirsk and has subsequently been placed in another two runs prior to her Listed victory.

“She’s so tough. She ran in the sales race the other day but she was drawn one so she had no chance,” Easterby said. “She ended up running a blinder to finish sixth. I was a little worried about running her again, but we’d already declared her and I bred her so I was keen to try to get some black type as her half-brother is in the sales at Newmarket.”

Anaisa joins G3 Prix de Cabourg winner Tadej and Listed winners Wor Faayth and Queen Martina on Ardad’s black type juvenile roll of honour for 2025, making him the leading British-based sire for two-year-old stakes winner this year.

With the British yearling sale season set to start at Doncaster on Wednesday, Ardad has 15 catalogued for the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale and another nine entered for the Tattersalls Somerville Sale next week.
