Hugo Palmer’s stable has been in great form of late with three group wins in the last week, and Ardad juvenile Ardisia added to the spoils with a tenacious win at Glorious Goodwood on Friday.
Sent off at 20/1 and already a dual winner, the gelding got the treble up when outpointing the favourite Shaman Champion to win the six-furlong nursery by a neck in the hands of David Probert.
Bred by Eddie O’Leary of Lynn Lodge Stud, Ardisia was bought at last year’s Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale for £33,000. This year’s sale, which is to be held on 27 and 28 August, contains 15 yearlings by Ardad, including Mickley Stud’s colt out of a three-part-sister to Havana Grey (lot 254).
