Six-time British Champion Jump stallion Kayf Tara has had his fee set for the 2016 season. The son of Sadler’s Wells, who enjoyed a wonderful treble at Cheltenham on Friday, will stand at £5,000 Oct 1, SLF.

Simon Sweeting, manager of Overbury Stud, said, ‘Kayf Tara is having his best ever season on the track, and is second only to Presenting among living stallions in Britain and Ireland. It’s very exciting! He’s reaping the rewards of top breeders entrusting him with quality mares, and long may it continue. He is fighting fit at the age of 21, with extraordinary fertility, and he retains great zest for his job. There is a long list of mares booked for 2016. We’ve capped it at 120, so he is, to all intents and purposes, fully booked, but we are drawing up a reserve list. As long as breeders keep wanting to use him, we’ll do our best to cover their mares for them. Last year, we set the bar at 150 mares, and he got through that number so well we extended it to 200 – we’re proud to say, the biggest book of any stallion in Britain, and a great testament to the horse. With luck on our side, we’ll be in the same position next spring.’
