Leading British stallion challenging the best in Ireland at the top of the table.

Kayf Tara finished Cheltenham week as not only the Festival’s leading sire, but as the leading living stallion in Britain and Ireland for the season so far by winning prize money, some £40,000 ahead of his nearest pursuer, Presenting.

His five G1 winners for the season cover most trips and jumping disciplines: two-mile hurdler Identity Thief, staying novice chasers Blaklion and Feltham, bumper horse Ballyandy, Champion-elect staying hurdler Thistlecrack – while Champion Chase third Special Tiara has also performed in the highest grade.

Kayf Tara’s season total is less than £35,000 behind Presenting when place money is also counted, but from 39 fewer runners. Presenting, who is two years older than Kayf Tara, also has many more racing age foals: some 1,199 more infact (Presenting has 2,565 to Kayf Tara’s 1,366).

Should he make up the leeway in the last weeks of the season, Kay Tara would become the first British stallion ever to lead the combined list of living stallions.
