Brian Ellison sent two-year-old Wor Faayth all the way from the north of England to south-west France but the Ardad filly ensured it was a worthwhile journey by winning the Listed Criterium du Bequet by two and a half length under Christophe Soumillon.

Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock from the Dark Angel mare Faay, Wor Faayth was third on debut at Carlisle in May behind dual winner and Super Sprint third Sands Of Spain, who is now rated 91.

A month later Wor Faayth posted her own emphatic maiden win by three lengths at Hamilton before her voyage to France to earn valuable black type. She has an entry for the G2 Lowther Stakes on 21 August.

From the first crop of two-year-olds bred after the breakthrough of treble Group 1 winner Perfect Power from his sire’s debut crop, Ardad has so far been represented by 13 juvenile winners this season, including four black-type horses and Wor Faayth’s fellow stakes winner Queen Martina.
