Britain’s leading National Hunt stallion for a seventh time, Kayf Tara enjoyed his best ever season in 2015-16, his five Grade 1 winners led by Horse of the Year Thistlecrack.

With earnings of £2,258,332, the 303 runners by Kayf Tara in the latest season saw him yet again lead all British jump stallions at the end-of-season totting-up. They include 106 winners (a rate of 35%) and win prize money of almost £1.6 million that makes Kayf Tara the leading living jump stallion in either Britain or Ireland – some achievement since the second horse on the list, Presenting, has sired almost twice as many foals as Kayf Tara.

His top-level winners this season were Tea For Three in the G1 Feltham Novices’ Chase, Identity Thief in the G1 Fighting Fifth and his three Cheltenham Festival stars Blacklion (G1 RSA Chase), Ballyandy (G1 Champion Bumper) and Horse of the Year and Champion staying hurdler Thistlecrack, winner of the G1 Long Walk Hurdle, G1 World Hurdle and G1 Liverpool Stayers’ Hurdle. All this after his leading two-mile chaser Special Tiara won the G1 AP McCoy Celebration Chase on the last day of the 2014-15 season.
