Proclamation colt to Richard Hannon for £31,000

06/09/11 - Bertolini averages £16,833 at the DBS Premier Yearling Sale

Among Richard Hannon’s intake of juveniles for 2012 is a colt by Proclamation who was knocked down for £31,000 at the DBS Premier Yearling Sale on Thursday.

Selected by Peter and Ross Doyle, the February-foaled colt is the first foal of Rockburst (by Xaar), a dual winner at two.

Three Bertolini yearlings also sold at Doncaster, returning an average of £16,833.

The top price of the trio was £20,000 for a colt out of Cosmic Song (by Cosmonaut), yet another picked out by the Doyles. His dam is a three-time winner and his full-brother Cosmic Art has won seven races in total: three in Britain as a two-year-old, when he achieved a top rating of 93, and another four since being bought to race in Hong Kong

A Bertolini filly out of the three-time juvenile Flying Highest sold to Stephen Hillen for £16,500. She is a half-sister to Bluie (Ishiguru), who is also now racing in Hong Kong.

A full-brother to Bertolini’s talented daughter Uvinza, who was placed in the G2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, was another to go under the hammer, fetching £14,000 when sold to trainer Ken Ivory.
