Overbury foals sell well at Tattersalls

Royal Applause filly fetches 40,000gns and Sir Percy colt makes 15,000gns 1 December 2012

Overbury Stud offered two foals on the final day of the Tattersalls December Foal Sale and both found new homes, with a daughter of Royal Applause selling for 40,000gns while a colt by Sir Percy made 15,000gns.

The Royal Applause filly (lot 1091) out of the winning Refuse To Bend mare Bended Knee has joined a strong team of pinhooks by Tony and Roger O’Callaghan’s Tally Ho Stud. She was bred in partnership by Overbury Stallions Ltd and Dukes Stud, who sold her Dutch Art half-brother for 64,000gns at the same sale last year.

Lot 1090 was a Sir Percy half-brother to four winners from the Tirol mare Eurolinka from the family of G3 winners Mango Mischief and Eurolink Raindance The strong bay colt was another bred in partnership, this time with longstanding Overbury client Clive Ashby, and was bought by yet more good judges, Peter and Ross Doyle.
