Seventh winner of the week for Kayf Tara 5 December 2013

Kayf Tara has been firing in the winners this week, starting with a double at Newbury last Friday courtesy of Cantlow and Mickie, and swiftly followed by Meadowcroft Boy’s victory at Carlisle on Sunday.

The Alistair Whillans-trained four-year-old is now unbeaten in three starts after scoring at his first attempt over hurdles in the hands of Evan Whillans. Out of the Good Thyne mare Blackbriery Thyne, he was bred Simon and Helen Plumbly and sold as a three-year-old for £17,000.

Value At Risk, a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Battlecry, was another four-year-old winner for Kayf Tara on Sunday when winning the Fairyhouse bumper on just his second start for Philip Fenton and owner/breeder D M Huglin.

Ballyboley was yet another Kayf Tara bumper winner this season for Nigel Twiston-Davies when winning at Southwell on Tuesday, and his success was followed 24 hours later by a first-time-out win for the young mare Tara Mist, trained by Henry Daly.

On Thursday, Twiston-Davies was back in the winner’s enclosure with his homebred Mini Muck, who won the mares’ handicap hurdle at Leicester, her second victory this season.
