Delegator colt fetches €46,000 at Fairyhouse

Amanda Skiffington buys the half-brother to three winners
23 September 2015

A first-crop son of Delegator was knocked down for €46,000 to agent Amanda Skiffington at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale on Wednesday.

Out of the Green Desert mare Quip, the April-born colt represented a good pinhooking investment for Monksland Stables, who bought him for 17,000gns at Tattersalls last December and returned a decent profit at Fairyhouse.

All three of Quip’s runners to date are winners and the full-sister to Listed winner Secret Charm hails from a strong family which includes black-type winners in England, France, America and Australia.

Delegator stood for £5,000 in his first season at Overbury Stud and his 18 foals to sell last year retuned an average price of 17,572gns (approximately £18,500).
