Bosphorous Rose took another major step forward in her exciting career to date with victory in the Listed Lenebane Stakes at Roscommon on Tuesday.

The four-year-old daughter of Golden Horn was making her second start for Paddy Twomey since being bought for 150,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mares’ Sale. On her Irish debut earlier in June she finished third in the G3 Munster Oaks.

Bred by Imad Al Sagar’s Blue Diamond Stud, Bosphorous Rose spent her first two seasons in training in Newmarket with Sir Mark Prescott, and was placed three times at two before winning four of her eight races last season. Her four-and-three-quarter-length Listed success will see her rating soar past the 100 mark and she holds entries for the G3 Stanerra Stakes and G3 Al Shira’aa Racing Meadow Court Stakes later in July.
