Following in some impressive family footsteps, Silverella won smartly on her second start at Goodwood for her owner-breeder Jennifer Dorey and Marcus Tregoning.

The two-year-old daughter of Frontiersman travelled strongly throughout the mile of the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes, taking up the running with a furlong left to run and eventually winning by a length and a half under David Probert. On top of racecourse prize-money, Silverella also won a £40,000 GBB Plus bonus.

Silverella’s six-year-old full-sister Miss Dolly Rocker was herself Frontiersman’s first ever winner when striking over 1m2f at three, having placed in all four of her juvenile starts for Roger Teal. She is now a five-time winner with a rating of 92.

Their dam Miss Minuty (Verglas) has also bred two multiple winners by Cityscape, including Rebel Rocker, who finished sixth in this year’s Derby.

A dual-purpose half-brother to Classic sire Australia, Frontiersman is also the sire of G2 Premier Novices’ Hurdle winner Montemares, while on the Flat his best runners include the 104-rated four-time winner Asian Daze, who was bought by leading Australian trainer Gai Waterhouse for £200,000 at the Goffs London Sale.
