Cityscape is to shuttle to Haras La Providencia in Argentina for the coming southern hemisphere stud season in a deal brokered by Blandford Bloodstock.

The top-class Group 1-winning miler by Selkirk, who stands at Overbury Stud in Gloucestershire, has just completed his first season at stud in England and is due to fly to South America on Wednesday.

Commenting on the move, Blandford Bloodstock’s Richard Brown said: “Haras La Providencia is a really top-class Argentinian stud farm with world-class facilities and a long history of standing successful stallions.

“We are delighted to have assisted in the formation of this partnership between Haras La Providencia and Overbury Stud. Cityscape received a quality first book of around 110 mares in the northern hemisphere this season and we are sure he will receive a very enthusiastic response when he arrives in Argentina.”

An exceptionally tough and consistent half-brother to Bated Breath, the Roger Charlton-trained Cityscape smashed the track record at Meydan when winning the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free in March 2012. A multiple Group winner who was second to Excelebration twice, he finished his career with earnings just shy of £3,000,000 and a Timeform rating of 125, the same rating as Dawn Approach yet ahead of Camelot and Farrh.
