Escape The City strikes at Redcar.

The Hughie Morrison-trained Escape The City became her sire’s third winner when landing the seven-furlong Novice Auction Stakes at Redcar on Saturday. Bred by MNC Racing, the filly is out of the Catcher In The Rye mare Jasmeno – who is back in foal to Cityscape – and had been runner-up on her previous start at Salisbury on 17 August.

Cityscape has now been represented by winners in England, Ireland and France, with Ballymount having now won twice across the Channel for Eoghan O’Neill, while Freescape has won and been placed at the Curragh and Dundalk for David Marnane.

Yarmouth’s mile maiden on 22 August featured three nice Cityscape fillies, two of whom filled the minor places. Nicholas Jones’s homebred Give And Take, from the family of multiple Group 1 winner Fame And Glory, looks a surefire future winner for William Haggas having finished second on her only two starts to date. At Yarmouth, she was followed home in third by the Hugo Palmer-trained Momentarily, who was bred in partnership by Dukes Stud and Overbury Stud and showed plenty of ability on her debut.
